Ahead of the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Canelo Alvarez fight on Sept. 14, boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya joined TapouT Radio to analyze a hypothetical inter-sport superfight: Roy Jones Jr. vs. Anderson Silva.

The TapouT Radio hosts asked De La Hoya which fighter would win in the octagon, and which would win in the boxing ring.

“If they’re gonna fight in the octagon, then obviously Silva would tap him out,” De La Hoya said. “If they would do a boxing match then I think Roy Jones would beat him easy. There’s no doubt about it. Roy Jones has been boxing all his life, he was a master at his craft for many years, one of the best obviously the game has produced. I would obviously have to pick Roy Jones, but if you were to put him in an octagon, Anderson Silva would hands down beat Roy Jones easily.

TapouT Radio with Ricky Bones, Punkass and Skyskrape airs Thursdays at 2 pm ET on SiriusXM Sports Zone, Sirius channel 92 and XM channel 208.
