While you were sleeping: Warriors survive in overtime, D’Angelo Russell’s big night, Carmelo Anthony’s epic fail

Good morning! A lot happens in sports, even when you’re busy doing other non-sports-y stuff. So here are the top headlines and moments from yesterday, in case you missed anything while you were keeping track of the Super Tuesday results.

Draymond Green comes through in the clutch

Even without Stephen Curry, the Warriors still found a way to beat the Hawks in overtime, 109-105, to extend their home winning streak to 43 games which is one-shy of the NBA record. Klay Thompson led with 26 points and Draymond Green flirted with another triple-double, finishing with 15 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists. Green had the play of the night with this clutch three-pointer late in the overtime:

Ice in his veins!

Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell poured in a career-high 39 points to lead Los Angeles over the Brooklyn Nets, 107-101. He looks like he’s finally found his groove, shooting 14-of-21 from the field and knocking down eight three-pointers, including this one in the game’s final seconds:

“Ice in my veins!” he yelled. It’s Russells third straight game with at least 22 points.

‘Melo’s epic fail

Our must-see moment of the night comes from the Knicks’ 104-85 loss to the Trail Blazers. Carmelo Anthony, who made headlines for telling a heckling fan to ask James Dolan for his money back, also had the top “womp-womp” of the night with this epic fail of a dunk:

That play basically sums up the Knicks’ season so far.

Troll so hard…

The social media warfare between UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and challenger Jon Jones has been taken up a notch as both fighters showed off their photoshop skills. Jones posted this photo of Cormier as Carl Winslow from Family Matters on his Instagram:

Cormier responded by posting this photo of Jones as Tyrone Biggums, a drug-addicted character from the classic Chappelle’s Show. Cormier later deleted the photo:

Cormier and Jones will fight for the light heavyweight title on April 23 in a rematch. Jones won a decision in the first matchup for Cormier’s first loss of his career.

Look cool every morning. Find out what you missed in the sports world while you were sleeping, and impress your friends and co-workers. We won’t tell them you were actually watching Teen Wolf.
