The Beatles Channel brings you the songs, stories, influences, and legacy of The Fab Four! Some of the band’s most well-known fans have joined the channel for guest DJ sessions, sharing their favorite tracks and some very memorable stories.

The 2017 Primetime Emmy recipient Alec Baldwin, is the latest celebrity to get behind the mic. During his session, he explored the enduring vocal legacies of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

After introducing the song This Boy, Baldwin suggests that it is “one of the most beautiful songs Lennon sang as a Beatle.”

Adding, “Lennon’s style was more ‘These are difficult things for me to say.’ And when he sings it, you can hear that in the singing.”

Describing McCartney’s vocals, Baldwin said his voice is instantly recognizable and ubiquitous.

“Like Lennon, McCartney is one of the recognizable voices in human history. He could speak on a radio show and say two syllables, and you’d know exactly who it is,” Baldwin said before launching into an impression of Macca. “He is one of the most recognizable voices, spoken and singing, in all of world history. One of the greatest singers in world history, and again, great range.”

Hear Alec Baldwin’s DJ session in full on The Beatles Channel (Ch. 18) Thursday, Oct. 19 at 12pm ET.
