Which nominees do you want to see inducted into the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2016 nominees today. The list features eight first-time nominees including new wave band The Cars, soft-rockers Chicago and Tex-Mex blues rockers Los Lobos as well as Cheap Trick, Steve Miller, Janet Jackson, funk legend Chaka Khan (previously up for 2012 induction with funk band Rufus), and James Brown’s band, The J.B’s.

Meanwhile, disco-funk group Chic earned its record-setting tenth nod this year while N.W.A, whose biopic Straight Outta Compton made waves this summer, is up for the fourth time. Deep Purple and The Spinners both make their third appearance on the list, while Yes, Nine Inch Nails and The Smiths return to the ballot for the second time.

To be eligible for induction, artists must have released their first single or album 25 years ago (no later than 1990). Ballots will be sent to an international voting body of more than 800 artists, historians and members of the music industry. Additionally, the top five artists selected by the public will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2016 inductees.

Cast your vote now through Dec 9 at rockhall.com, and tune into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Radio (Ch. 310) to hear insight into the entire list of nominees and their music every fifteen minutes, now through Nov. 1.
