New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick faces reporters during a news conference, Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Gillette Stadium, in Foxborough, Mass. The Patriots are scheduled to host the Tennessee Titans in an NFL divisional football AFC playoff game, Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in Foxborough.

Rumors have been circulating lately that legendary head coach Bill Belichick might be interested in majorly changing things up to coach for the New York Giants.

Seem far-fetched? Yeah, that’s probably a good instinct to have. Belichick shut the rumor mill down, according to NFL.com, saying he “absolutely” plans to return to the Patriots organization for the 2018-19 season.

The proclamation comes days after an ESPN report detailing rifts between Patriots owner Robert Kraft, quarterback Tom Brady and Belichick. Charlie Weis, SiriusXM NFL Radio host and former Patriots offensive coordinator, weighed in on the drama earlier this week.

Belichick doesn’t seem fazed though. He added to media: “Right now my interest is trying to do the best I can for our football team to get ready for Saturday night against Tennessee.”

Speaking of the game (thanks for the segue, Bill), we’ve got another weekend of full of playoff matchups in the Divisional Round. Action kicks off between the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday at 4:35pm ET. The aforementioned Patriots follow right after when they take on the Tennessee Titans at 8:15pm.

On Sunday we get started early in a matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers at 1:15pm ET. Rounding out the weekend is the much-anticipated showdown between the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings.

You can catch EVERY game on SiriusXM NFL Radio (Ch. 88)!
