Country singer Chris Stapleton dominated the 2015 CMAs on Wednesday night, both for his sweeping three wins (for male vocalist of the year, new artist of the year, and album of the year), and for his two duets with Justin Timberlake of the country standard Tennessee Whiskey (written by Linda Hargrove and Dean Dillon, previously recorded by Geroge Jones and David Allan Coe), and Timberlake’s Drink You Away.

But the dark horse is still relatively unknown to country fans, even though he’s been working in the industry for quite awhile–just writing songs for the likes of Luke Bryan, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Adele. Backstage after his big night, though, Stapleton talked about how much we at SiriusXM, and specifically The Highway and Outlaw Country (which also supported his previous band The Steeldrivers along with Bluegrass Junction), have shown him and his new solo career love.
