

Academy Award-winner Viola Davis thinks that it’s time for characters on TV to be completely authentic, likability be damned. The 52-year-old ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ actress plays Annalise Keating, a hotshot Philadelphia lawyer with a rap sheet longer than the criminals she defends. Davis says that roles featuring black women tend to be one dimensional. But on the ABC crime drama, Davis wants her character to explore the full spectrum of human emotion and experience, citing Annalise Keating as a “great experiment to where I believe black women should be going in narratives.” Watch below:
