Victor Cruz bringing ‘little tidbits’ of Giants past to Bears’ quarterbacks

Victor Cruz spent seven seasons with the New York Giants, and during that time he had an up-close look at how a top-level quarterback operates on and off the field. Now, as a member of the Chicago Bears, the wide receiver is sharing those observations in hopes of helping with the development of his two new QBs: Mike Glennon and Mitch Trubisky.

‘Eli and I used to meet every Friday before games and go over his last-minute things’

“Just kind of giving them little tidbits about maybe how Eli carried himself or the things he did in the media room or the things he did in the meeting rooms,” Cruz told Jeff Joniak and Jim Miller during the SiriusXM NFL Radio training-camp tour stop at Bears camp. “Little things like, Eli and I used to meet every Friday before games and go over his last-minute things that he wanted to go over and just brush up on the minor details and the little things.

“Everybody’s good in the NFL, everybody’s great, everybody has talent. It’s those little things, those little nuances of the game that’s really going to take you over the edge and really give you that mental edge over other teams.

‘However I can help this team, that’s why I’m here’

“However I can be a catalyst or a voice or someone that’s been through the ups and downs, however I can help this team, that’s why I’m here.”
