Former NBA point guard Tim Hardaway spoke with Justin Termine and Sam Mitchell at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas about his son, Tim Hardaway Jr., who was drafted by the New York Knicks in June.

Hardaway spoke with a father’s pride of Hardaway Jr., who will play small forward for New York, complimenting his ability to develop his game.

“I’m having a lot of flashbacks, but I’m enjoying it. I’m enjoying the process, I’m enjoying just watching him grow up just as a human being, watching him grow up as a man,” Hardaway said. “He works hard at his game, he’s a sponge. He loves to learn every aspect of the game and get better.”

Hardaway, who also joked that he’ll have to get used to rooting for his former NBA rivals, the Knicks, except when they play his beloved Miami Heat, talked about Miami’s need for a big man and what Dwyane Wade can bring to the table in 2013-14.
