When it came to quarterbacks, college football was all about Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota in 2014, and there is no doubt there will be a lot of eyes on the two rookies in the 2015 NFL season.

There’s newpressure that comes with going first and second overall in the 2015 NFL draft, and if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Winston and Tennessee Titans’ Mariota are to succeed, both players will have to prove themselves in different areas.

On SiriusXM Bleacher Report Radio, football writer Dennis Dodd shared his thoughts on where Winston will have to prove himself in his rookie season.

“Jameis is going to have to prove he keeps his nose to the grindstone, doesn’t embarrass himself and the franchise,” said Dodd. “The most, I guess, risk, is there with Jameis. But obviously, the Bucs didn’t see it that way, and they’re going to hang everything on him.”

He also spoke about what Mariota needs to prove in his first season.

“Marcus has to prove he can run a pro team, run a pro offense, which I think he can,” said Dodd. “He had been taking snaps at the end of practice just to get him ready for the NFL. Mark Helfrich had given him that leeway for a long, long time. And he is smart, his arm is great, and he can run, so I think he’ll be fantastic.”
