The Morning Drive hosts tastiest NASCAR show ever at Waffle House

This was the tastiest radio show ever.

The Morning Drive’s Mike Bagley and Pete Pistone descended on the Waffle House in Concord, N.C., last Thursday, courtesy of their tasty sponsor, Smithfield Foods. NASCAR nation was in the greater Charlotte area for the third race in The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Eliminator Round, the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Mike and Pete got a prime spot at the counter and proceeded to hold court over the restaurant, talking with NASCAR drivers Aric Almirola and Brendan Gaughan, crew chiefs Slugger Labbe and Trent Owens, “The King” Richard Petty, Waffle House patrons, and others!

There were laughs.

There were waffles.

And there was bacon.

If only you could smell it through a radio (or blog post).
