The Billy Joel Channel will return to SiriusXM for 24 hours on Monday, May 11 to broadcast “Rise Up New York!” a relief benefit to raise awareness and funds to help New Yorkers whose lives have been dramatically impacted by COVID-19. Tune in to The Billy Joel Channel, which will take over The Bridge (Ch. 32), for free on Monday, May 11 at 7pm ET to hear the special broadcast.

The relief benefit show will bring together New York City’s biggest musicians, actors, chefs, and more with one common goal: to raise funds for New York’s largest poverty-fighting organization, Robin Hood, and their relief and recovery efforts, deployed directly to the organizations on the frontlines that serve the city’s most vulnerable during the current crisis and its aftermath. Donations will provide support for food, shelter, cash assistance, health and mental health, legal services, education, and more – helping fellow New Yorkers rebuild their lives as the city moves toward recovery and beyond.

The one-hour benefit special will be hosted by Tina Fey. Appearances will include New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Angie Mar, Barbra Streisand, Ben Platt, Bette Midler, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Chris Rock, Christopher Jackson, Cynthia Erivo, David Chang, Idina Menzel, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Julianne Moore, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Robert De Niro, Spike Lee, Sutton Foster, Trevor Noah, and New York Giants Super Bowl champions Eli Manning, Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, and Phil Simms, along with real-life accounts of the work being done on the frontlines. Musical performances will feature Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Mariah Carey, and Sting, among others yet to be announced.

Throughout the day, The Billy Joel Channel will also feature music spanning his five decades-long career, including songs from his live and studio albums, and exclusive stories from Joel that have inspired and influenced his life and career. The Billy Joel Channel also includes radio shows hosted by Billy Joel, during which he plays some of his favorite music by other artists, as well as rare live performances. Additionally, the channel will air a special show, Billy Joel A to Z, in which Joel guides listeners through each of his studio recordings in alphabetical order.
