Grunge pioneer Chris Cornell — who was in town to promote his new solo album, Higher Truth — recently stopped by the SiriusXM studios for an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone’s David Fricke and an intimate acoustic performance backed by cellist Bryan Gibson and fellow guitarist Keaton Simons.

Rock on the Range honored Chris Cornell with an emotional, musically-fueled tribute during what would have been his headlining set Friday night.

“I think there was a lot more to that scene that was happening than what people sort of understand it to be,” Cornell said.
