This Thursday, get up and stand up with SiriusXM’s The Joint (Ch. 42) as we spark up some birthday love for reggae great Bob Marley.
The Joint is blazing all day, celebrating Marley’s 75th birthday anniversary all day with the Jamaican Rasta’s iconic jams, songs by budding reggae artists, and moving Marley tributes from relatives and fans including his grandson Skip Marley and rap legend LL COOL J. The positive vibrations will start to flow on Thursday, February 6 at 12am ET through Friday, February 7 at 3am ET. In the meantime, stream Pandora’s celebratory #BobMarley75 playlist to keep the vibes right while you wait.
Dead at just 36 years old, Marley, who rose to fame in the early 1970s as the frontman of reggae group Bob Marley and the Wailers, compiled a legendary music catalogue, which includes unforgettable hits like “No Woman, No Cry,” “Redemption Song,” “Buffalo Soldier,” “Jamming,” “Get Up, Stand Up,” and so many more. But the pioneering reggae and ska god’s global impact extends beyond his music — Marley also became a Rastafarian icon and poster boy for the legalization of marijuana.
The new visual for "Redemption Song" premieres TOMORROW at 7a PT on @YouTubeMusic! #BobMarley75
