Tony Stewart, aka Smoke, co-hosted a special edition of Tony Stewart Live with Matt Yocum Monday on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. The special aired from Eldora Speedway, Stewart’s home track in Rossburg, Ohio. The speedway will host the inaugural Mudsummer Classic at 7 pm ET Wednesday, which will air on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Stewart and Yocum talked about Danica Patrick’s season to date on the program. Stewart said that Patrick is “doing a lot better than people give her credit for.”

“I think she’s doing a pretty good job actually,” Stewart said. “I don’t think we’ve got [the cars] driving the way that Ryan [Newman] and myself and Danica are really happy with yet. And I think that’s held her back a bit.

“But you look at Martinsville where she ran 11th, I thought that was a spectacular finish for her first time in Martinsville,” Stewart continued. “I think for the most part, I think people overlook the fact that she does not have very much time at all in a stock car.”
