SiriusXM remembers Adam Schlesinger, dead at 52 due to coronavirus complications

SiriusXM is sad to report the death of Adam Schlesinger, songwriter and co-founder of Fountains of Wayne, due to coronavirus complications at the age of 52.

Schlesinger achieved much success in his long music career. In 1997, Schlesinger co-wrote the theme song for the film That Thing You Do!, which led to Oscar and Golden Globe nominations. He went on to earn two GRAMMY nominations in 2003 with Fountains of Wayne and their song “Stacy’s Mom.”

He also earned Tony nominations for his work on Broadway and was a celebrated contributor to a number of television series and specials — including Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, for which he won an Emmy, and Sesame Street.
