SiriusXM Patriot’s Mike Church says president Obama is impeachable

SiriusXM Patriot Host Mike Church, of The Mike Church Show, discusses why he believes Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Bob Goodlatte is wrong about impeachment being reserved for instances of criminal wrongdoing.

Over the weekend, Goodlatte revealed to ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos that the Judiciary Committee will not be seeking grounds for impeachment against President Obama and that the lawsuit against him would suffice: “[The Judiciary Committee] are not working up or drawing up articles of impeachment. The Constitution is very clear as to what constitutes grounds for the impeachment of the President of the United States. [President Obama] has not committed the kind of criminal acts that call for that.”

In response to Goodlatte’s statements on ABC News, Church stated: “With all due respect Congressman, you are just a constitutional imbecile, sir. If you woke up yesterday morning, my friend, and decided to be wrong, that is exactly what you would say. The impeachment clause High Crimes and Misdemeanors does not deal with criminal behavior. It does not! Specifically, you said the Constitution’s clear, maybe you ought to read it. Here is an even better suggestion, maybe you should read some of the history about what a high crime and a misdemeanor might have meant to James Madison, to George Mason, to Elbridge Gerry, to Edmund Randolph, first Attorney General of the United States of America. If you did or if you had then you would know that what you just said was 180 degrees backwards, you have the whole thing flipped backwards!”
