Here’s how Sunday’s NASCAR Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway impacted the season’s final edition of the Power Rankings:

1. Kyle Larson – His tenth win of the season clinched NASCAR Cup Series championship number one for Larson. He had one of the most dominant seasons in recent NASCAR history and led 2581 laps, the most by a driver since Jeff Gordon led 2610 in 1995

2. Martin Truex Jr. – Won four times in 2021 and finished second in points for the third time in the last four seasons.

Standings: 2nd

3. Denny Hamlin – His bid for a first championship came up short again with a third-place Phoenix finish. He had 1,502 laps led and 25 top-10s in 2021 his most ever in a season. Hamlin’s 19 top-fives tied his most ever.

Standings: 3rd

4. Chase Elliott – He was not able to become a back-to-back champion after finishing fifth in the Phoenix finale. Elliott won twice in 2021 and his 15 top-fives were tied for his most in a season.

5. Kyle Busch – A decent day for Busch to end a somewhat disappointing season. Busch took the checkered flag seventh in Phoenix on Sunday.

6. Ryan Blaney –A fourth-place performance Sunday in Phoenix ended his career with crew chief Todd Gordon on a high note. Blaney won three times in 2021, his most ever in a season.

7. Alex Bowman – There wasn’t any carryover from Bowman’s controversial Martinsville victory the week before. The Arizona native had a mediocre homecoming with an 18^th place effort.

8. William Byron – He wasn’t able to make an impact as he did in recent outings. Byron’s day in Phoenix to end the season ended up with him crossing the finish line in 17^th place.

9. Brad Keselowski – He scored a top-10 finish in his last start for Team Penske. Keselowski made 435 Cup starts with Team Penske, won 34 times with the team, and won the 2012 Cup Championship.

10. Joey Logano – Hovered around the top-10 most of the day in Phoenix and Logano took the checkered flag just outside that group in 11^th.
