The battle for the top of the Big Ten hoops standings is turning into a real heavyweight fight among the conference’s elite teams. Teams in the middle of the pack continue to search for ways to put together sustainable stretches of winning and move up. Here’s how the SiriusXM Big Ten Radio team voted for this week’s edition of the Power Rankings:

1. MICHIGAN STATE @MSU_Basketball

Tom Izzo isn’t completely pleased with the way his team is playing, but the wins keep getting put up on the board. Covid-19 is impacting the Spartans’ schedule, including getting a rivalry game with Michigan postponed last week.

2. WISCONSIN @BadgerMBB

A great week for the Badgers with a 3-0 mark, including a huge victory on the road against Purdue.

3. PURDUE @BoilerBall

The Boilermakers fell to .500 in conference play at the end of last weekend, which is a surprise for a team that looked so strong in the early going.

4. ILLINOIS @IlliniMBB

A perfect 4-0 in conference play for the Fighting Illini after another strong week for Illinois.

5. INDIANA @IndianaMBB

A couple of very solid outings for the Hoosiers with wins against Ohio State and Minnesota.

6. OHIO STATE @OhioStateHoops

They were punched in the jaw by Indiana losing by 16 to the Hoosiers in Bloomington, but the Buckeyes came back to beat Northwestern on Sunday.

7. RUTGERS @RutgersMBB

Things are getting interesting with Rutgers, and the Scarlet Knights went 2-0 last week, beating Michigan and Nebraska.

8. IOWA @IowaHoops

The Hawkeyes continue to look like a middle-of-the-pack team and ended last week with a 1-1 mark that included a win over Maryland but a loss to Wisconsin.

9. MINNESOTA @GopherMBB

The Golden Gophers were blown out twice last week, and things don’t get any easier with Michigan State up next on their slate.

10. MICHIGAN @umichbball

It’s becoming a legitimate question to ask if Michigan can turn things around as they ended last week just 7-6 overall.

11. PENN STATE @PennStateMBB

This Penn State team is definitely capable of playing with anyone on any night. The Nittany Lions beat Northwestern and went down to the wire before losing to Purdue.

12. NORTHWESTERN @NUMensBBall

A promising start to the campaign has morphed into a struggle for the Wildcats, who bring a three-game losing streak into the week.

13. MARYLAND @TerrapinHoops

The Terms are winless in the Big Ten at 0-4 and so far have been a major disappointment.

14. NEBRASKA @HuskerHoops

The Huskers continue to play hard but the results just aren’t there as Nebraska dropped to 0-5 after last week’s play.
