In the midst of one of his least effective playoff series as an NBA player, Manu Ginobili broke out in a big way for the San Antonio Spurs Sunday night, scoring 24 points to go along with 10 assists in a 114-104 Game 5 win over the Miami Heat. The victory moved San Antonio up 3-2 in the series, with the potential to close out the NBA Finals in Game 6 on Tuesday.

Schein on Sports host Adam Schein spoke about Ginobili’s rejuvenation Monday on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio.

“[Ginobili] still has that clutch gene,” Schein said. “I was dead wrong on writing the epitaph too soon on Manu Ginobili. This was an amazing performance. Twenty-four points, set the entire tone,” Schein said. “I don’t know about you, watching it, the first shot he hit, ‘Bam!’ New player, new game.”

Schein also spoke about how Ginobili seems to be a fan favorite in San Antonio despite playing alongside superstars Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. Listen to his thoughts below, and catch Schein on Sports weekdays at 10 am ET on SiriusXM channel 86.
