The first thing Kwon Alexander noticed when he walked into the San Francisco 49ers’ facility was the atmosphere.

He immediately felt as if he was part of something special, something that would lead to success. And that reaffirmed all of the good feelings the linebacker had about joining the Niners as a free agent this week.

‘Everybody is happy, everybody’s excited’

“The energy is amazing,” Alexander told Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Movin’ The Chains. “The coaches … everybody is happy, everybody’s excited. You don’t see (anybody) down like they don’t want to be here. It’s just amazing, man.

“I respect everybody. It’s going to be a great season for us.”

“The atmosphere’s crazy. I respect everybody. It’s going to be a great season for us.”

‘I’m going to play and go fast to the ball, regardless, and make plays’

Alexander doesn’t know what his specific role will be in the 49ers’ defense, beyond being told that he will be put in a position to make plays. That’s all that matters to him.

“It doesn’t matter where I’m at,” Alexander said. “I’m going to play and go fast to the ball, regardless, and make plays. I’m just ready to get back out there.”

‘It was hard to leave, because you made great friends and relationships over there’

After spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Buccaneers, he admits that he had some mixed feelings about going elsewhere.

“It was hard to leave, because you made great friends and relationships over there with the team,” he said. “I’ve been there for four years, so I’ve got best friends and everything over there now. But I’m happy to be a 49er now, ready to get going, make friendships with my teammates and win Super Bowls.”
