Ryan Kerrigan sees the steady progress.

Week by week, the Washington Redskins’ defensive line shows the capacity to dominate.

‘I feel like this past week was about as encouraging and awesome a performance we could ask for so far’

And never was that more apparent to the veteran linebacker than in Sunday night’s 27-10 victory against the Oakland Raiders.

“I feel like we’re really starting to come together,” Kerrigan told Bill Lekas and Bill Polian on Late Hits. “I feel like this past week was about as encouraging and awesome a performance we could ask for so far. I feel like the kind of guys we have up front with Jonathan Allen, Matt Ioannidis, Ziggy Hood, Terrell McClain, guys that are really buying into what (defensive coordinator Greg) Manusky and our new D-line coach Jim Tomsula are selling.

‘The push that they got with the Raiders’ interior of their offensive line was amazing’

“I feel like that’s been as big a key to our success as any.”

Kerrigan was highly impressed with what the Redskins were able to do against the Raiders, especially in the  middle.

‘For us to be able to match and surpass their physicality and kind of take the fight to them was a big reason why we won’

“The push that they got with the Raiders’ interior of their offensive line was amazing,” he said. “Because that’s the strength of their team, is those three interior guys. And for us to be able to match and surpass their physicality and kind of take the fight to them was a big reason why we won.”
