Rock out to the best of both worlds in 7-day crash course of hip-hop & metal

Things are about to get hot hip-hop and heavy on Liquid Metal (Ch. 40). For the first time ever, the SiriusXM hard-rock channel is highlighting what it’s like when hip-hop and metal collide for a full week.

Throughout Heavy Hip-Hop Week, you’ll hear songs from artists that are inspired by both genres. Whether it’s nu metal bands, heavy bands covering rap songs, hard-hitting collaborations, or groups that took the authenticity of hip-hop and incorporated it into their metallic sound, there are truly no limits.

Leading this charge is the new album Carnivore from rap-metal pioneers Body Count. Fronted by Ice-T, Body Count was formed in 1990 over a mutual love of metal between the established rapper (and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star) and guitarist Ernie C. As a prominent voice of Heavy Hip-Hop Week, triple-threat Ice-T (lyricist, actor, and badass) will be introducing cuts from Carnivore every hour while demonstrating the decades-long synergy between hip-hop and metal. Catch T’s Body Count takeovers On Demand below.

During this extra heavy week, Liquid Metal‘s Top 12 Devil’s Dozen countdown, all-covers special Corridor of Covers, and trivia game show Into the Trivia Pit will also join in with a focus on hip-hop and heavy metal.

Expect to hear music from Rage Against the Machine, Ozzy Osbourne and Post Malone, Anthrax and Public Enemy, Limp Bizkit, Cypress Hill, Tech N9ne, KoЯn and Ice Cube, Insane Clown Posse, Beastie Boys and Kerry King, Ghostemane, and many, many more. Be sure to tune in all the way until Friday, March 13 at 12am ET to hear it all.
