How good can the Los Angeles Rams’ offense be? “I don’t even think we’re at our expectations yet,” wide receiver Robert Woods told Bruce Murray and James Lofton on the SiriusXM Blitz. “I think we’re still getting started, still getting going. We feel like we can be unstoppable.”

How good can the Los Angeles Rams’ offense be?

“I don’t even think we’re at our expectations yet,” wide receiver Robert Woods told Bruce Murray and James Lofton on the SiriusXM Blitz. “I think we’re still getting started, still getting going. We feel like we can be unstoppable. We feel like we need to always score, because we have that type of faith and belief in our offense with all the weapons we have.

‘We still have a lot to do and a lot to accomplish’

“I know we’re doing well right now. We still have a lot to do and a lot to accomplish.”

The next step for the Rams is facing the Arizona Cardinals Sunday in London.

Goff is ‘light years ahead of his age and his years in the league’

Woods knows he’s on the ground floor of something special with the Rams. When your job is to catch passes, you place a high value on having the right person throw the ball in your direction.

Woods found that when he joined the Rams in the offseason as a free agent from the Buffalo Bills. That person making the throws is Jared Goff, the second-year quarterback who is making an incredible comeback from the rookie season after the Rams made him the top overall pick of the 2016 draft.

‘He’s very poised in the pocket, stands tall and delivers the ball right in the accurate position where only you can catch it’

“He’s light years ahead of his age and his years in the league,” Woods said. “He’s very poised in the pocket, stands tall and delivers the ball right in the accurate position where only you can catch it. He’s doing well so far this year.”

Woods knew exactly what he was seeking as a free agent. Besides a lucrative contract, he also wanted to be part of a team that would allow him to make the most of his receiving skills.

‘We want to be a pass-happy offense, but we got (Todd) Gurley in the backfield and it’s an explosive offense’

“I came here for the coaches and Jared,” Woods said. “I looked at the Rams and I saw that they were towards the bottom the passing. Seeing where our coaches came from, Washington (where head coach John McVay had been offensive coordinator) and Atlanta (where OC Matt LaFleur was quarterbacks coach), and they were one of the top passing offenses. So when you see that, you know it’s definitely going to be a huge change with Jared finally getting a full starting job, a full chance to be a starter. We want to be a pass-happy offense, but we got (Todd) Gurley in the backfield and it’s an explosive offense with Gurley, McVay and Jared at the quarterback position.”
