SiriusXM remembers late country icon Charlie Daniels with exclusive specials

SiriusXM is paying tribute to the life and music of country icon Charlie Daniels, who died of a hemorrhagic stroke on Monday, July 6 in Hermitage, Tennessee. Join us as we honor Daniels’ immense contribution to the musical landscape with specials on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country (Ch. 60), Willie’s Roadhouse (Ch. 59), Prime Country (Ch. 58), and VOLUME (Ch. 106).

On Sunday, July 12 at 11pm ET, Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel will be remembering Daniels on a special episode of his Austin Outer Limits show at Willie’s Roadhouse.

Also, don’t miss Charlie Daniels Remembered, a four-hour special hosted by Hillbilly Jim dedicated to the legendary artist in Outlaw Country on Saturday, July 11 at 10pm ET. The tribute — which features exclusive interviews, archive performances, remembrances from fellow artists, and more — will air again on Sunday, July 12 at 2pm ET and Monday, July 13 at 2am ET.

All weekend, celebrate the life of Charlie Daniels through the words of some of his closest musical friends, including Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, Ronnie Dunn, Brad Paisley, Tanya Tucker, Lee Greenwood, Joe Bonsal, Johnny Van Zant, Tracy Lawrence, T Graham Brown, Eddie Montgomery, Johnny Lee, and Gretchen Wilson during Prime Country Remembers Charlie Daniels. Prime Country will also air Storme Warren’s Artist Confidential special focused on Daniels on Saturday, July 11 at 8pm ET and Sunday, July 12 at 12pm ET.

Throughout the course of his multi-platinum career, Daniels’ passion for music was felt across genres, resulting in Dove Awards for his gospel albums, CMA Award-winning country hits, collaborations with Bob Dylan, and much more. He created countless memorable songs with the Charlie Daniels Band, including his signature hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” (which even inspired a 1993 sequel, “The Devil Comes Back to Georgia”). The singer-songwriter received numerous accolades, including his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry society.
