Radio Disney celebrates 20 years with special programming all week!

Geared towards preteens and young teenagers, Radio Disney provided the soundtrack to adolescence with contemporary hits from teen idols.

Join Radio Disney (Ch. 78) to celebrate its 20th birthday all week long with music, guest appearances, special themed shows and much more!

Radio Disney launched on Nov. 18, 1996. Geared towards preteens and young teenagers, the station provided the soundtrack to adolescence with contemporary hits from teen idols.

“We’re tremendously proud to be celebrating 20 years of Radio Disney with our past, core, and up-and-coming artists, and are so excited to share highlights from two decades of memories across our platforms throughout the week,” said Phil Guerini, Vice President of Music Strategy for Disney Channels Worldwide and General Manager of Radio Disney Networks.

On Thursday Nov. 17, DNCE will check in at 1 p.m. PT to celebrate RD20, followed by Radio Disney’s 20th Birthday Takeover at 3 p.m. ET. On Friday Nov. 18, one of Radio Disney’s most celebrated stars Aaron Carter will join the celebration at 12 p.m. PT.

DJ Lela B will spin a special RD20 edition of the Weekend Warm Up Mix at 2 p.m. PT followed by a birthday edition of Total Request Now featuring classic No. 1 hits at 3 p.m. PT. Skai Jackson will make a special appearance at 8 p.m. PT to wish Radio Disney a happy birthday.

Throughout the week there will be posts across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram sharing Radio Disney memories using the hashtag #RD20Bday. There will also be special Radio Disney birthday-themed Snapchat and Instagram stories featuring on-air talent.
