Dallas Goedert is a rookie, so he wasn’t around when Nick Foles became one of the more incredible stories in sports by going from backup quarterback to Super Bowl MVP with the Philadelphia Eagles last year.

Still, Goedert has been around long enough to see Foles display the tremendous poise, to go along with his skill, to put the Eagles on the path to a shot at a second Vince Lombardi Trophy.

‘He just went in that huddle and did exactly what he was supposed to do’

Foles was at it again Sunday, leading the Eagles on their game-winning drive in a 16-15 wild-card playoff victory against the Chicago Bears.

“Ever since I’ve been here watching here watching Nick Foles, he never gets too high, never gets too low in what he does,” Foles told Zig Fracassi and Brad Hopkins on NFL Rewind. “He just went in that huddle and did exactly what he was supposed to do. He called the plays and made the plays that he was able to.”

‘We could have played a lot better offensively’

As well as the Eagles’ offense performed in the clutch, Goedert and his offensive teammates believed they could have contributed more. However, they were thankful for another strong effort by the defense.

“I think everybody’s looking forward to going out there and kind of showing the world what we can do.”

“Our defense has played incredible all year, won us a lot of games,” said Goedert, who caught a 10-yard touchdown pass to give the Eagles a 10-6 lead in the third quarter. “But, yeah, it was it was a little upsetting. We could have played a lot better offensively, but we played a great a great team with a great defense, so just going out and getting that win is all that matters.”

‘We kind of went down there and got embarrassed’

Now, the challenge will be to get another one in Sunday’s divisional-round contest at New Orleans. When the teams met on Nov. 18, the Saints scored a 48-7 victory.

“We kind of went down there and got embarrassed,” Goedert said. “I think everybody on our team remembers that. But I think everybody’s looking forward to going out there and kind of showing the world what we can do.”
