Jane says… it’s about time! Yesterday, Jane’s Addiction was nominated to be a 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Frontman Perry Farrell chatted with Eddie Trunk and Dean Delray on Trunk Nation yesterday.

“I’m very excited about it,” Farrell said. “When I heard about it, I was on the phone texting, but my feet were clapping.”

The rocker wasn’t totally surprised by the news yesterday morning. His friend, Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, tipped him off just a few days before.

“Dave Grohl had a fundraiser for his children’s school and invited me to participate,” Farrell explained. “Right when he got off stage, he said, ‘Hey man. I just want to let you know something. I’ve been working with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.’ And he looks up at me, and he says, ‘I got you on the ballot, man. And I hope it all goes well.'”

Perry Farrell and Jane’s Addiction are just one of the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees announced yesterday morning. 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Stevie Van Zandt announced the list on the morning music news show Feedback. See the full list of nominees.

Trunk Nation airs Monday-Friday from 2-4 p.m. ET on SiriusXM VOLUME (Ch. 106).
