SiriusXM NBA Radio’s camp tour may bring listeners some of the best interviews and inside information as teams prepare for the upcoming season, but they also bring some of the best from your favorite players off-the-court. Here are some of our favorite lighter moments from the camp tour, so far.

Memphis Grizzlies’ forward Jeff Green’s mom may have been even more popular than he was in his time at Georgetown.

“A kid from Georgetown, I’m not sure of his name, he made a song called, ‘Jeff Green’s Mom Has Got It Going On,'” Green said. “She would just stand up and the crowd would just go bananas and start screaming ‘Jeff Green’s mom.'”

Atlanta Hawks’ player Paul Millsap was so worn out from playing chess last season, he took some time off from the game over the summer.

“I took the summer off,” Millsap said. “I’m ready for whatever. Checkers, chess, monopoly.”

Jeff Teague and the rest of the Hawks forgot to get Grant Hill, the team’s minority owner, a gift, so he tried to come up with a last-minute idea.

“We might need to get a Duke football jersey or something, maybe. The man that has everything, I don’t know.”

Tony Allen of the Memphis Grizzlies still cheers for his hometown Chicago White Sox.

“I came up around the Big Hurt Days,” Allen said. “Obviously the Cubs are doing great. I wish them the best, but real men wear black, and I’m gonna stick with the Sox.”

Marc Gasol has a bet with Grizzlies teammate Zach Randolph on how many dunks he can get.

“He has to get over 10,” Gasol said. “I told him if he gets one off one foot he gets extra credit.”

Amar’e Stoudemire has taken a leadership role in the kitchen for the Miami Heat.

“A lot of times you get a chance to jump on the grill, it’s a sense of clarity,” Stoudemire said. “We just gave the men some nice steaks, turkey burgers, and barbecue chicken. We did it all, man.”

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra may be a fan of boxer Manny Pacquiao, but not enough to let him play for his team.

“He’s not getting in,” said Spoelstra. “He could play for one of my pickup games out here, but you should see how bad those games are.”
