Lincoln Riley speaks at a news conference after being named football coach at Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

Lincoln Riley is aware of the expectations that come with being named the head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football team, but for now, he’s focused on simply being himself.

Riley replaced Bob Stoops as head coach of the Sooners following Stoops’ announcement earlier this week that he was retiring effective immediately. Riley told SiriusXM College Sports Nation that while much will be the same, some changes will naturally come about under his leadership.

“Bob (Stoops) and I were very much aligned on core fundamental issues about the program and I think that’s part of why everybody felt comfort in this,” Riley said. “I do know I gotta be myself and there will probably be some changes here and there that come about because of that.”
