It’s the dawn of a new era at SiriusXM. The latest SiriusXM satellite, Sirius FM-6, has been successfully placed into orbit and is now ready for service! This particular satellite is the latest addition to a fleet of satellites that bring an array of audio entertainment and data services to SiriusXM subscribers; whether it be in their vehicles, the receivers at home, business or on their mobile devices. What does this mean for you? A better, even more reliable service for all subscribers!

Having launched on October 25, the satellite will be situated at 116.15 degrees west longitude, hovering over the western part of the US to specifically operate for North America. Sirius FM-6 was manufactured by Space Systems/Loral and set into orbit from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan aboard an International Launch Services (ILS) Proton.

Regarding the new satellite, Robert Briskman, co-founder and technical executive at SiriusXM, was proud to announce the new-found reliability and logevity this satellite brings.

“Sirius FM-6 will help ensure continuous and reliable delivery of service and will benefit current and future SiriusXM subscribers across North America,” he said.
