Black History Month is about celebrating the accomplishments and advancements in the United States by African Americans. Furthermore, it is all about acknowledging the central role that black people and black culture has played in the history of the US. As a part of SiriusXM’s ongoing look at Black History Month, the SiriusXM NBA Radio team recently spoke to NBA legend, George Gervin, three-time NBA champ, Brian Shaw, and current executive director of the NBA Players Association, Michele Roberts, on the impact athletes of color have made, who their role models were growing up and why Black History Month is still so critically relevant today.
