Typically made with tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, margaritas are served in various ways, including frozen, twisted, and spicy. “Margaritaville” — Jimmy Buffett

Released in 1977, this classic was, of course, inspired by the now-famous cocktail. The chill vibes and mellow chords are all about the laidback, tropical lifestyle. It makes us want to relax and join Buffett “watchin’ the sun bake” with some shrimp on the boil. In addition to this song and the dedicated channel, Buffett has written a book of short stories entitled Tales of Margaritaville. He even owns a chain of restaurants of the same name — his dedication to the drink is second to none!

 

“She’s Got It All” — Kenny Chesney

“All I Wanna Do” — Sheryl Crow

Inspired by Wyn Cooper’s 1987 poem “Fun,” Sheryl Crow’s 1994 tune was her breakthrough song and her biggest US hit. The song takes inspiration from other sources too. The opening line refers to the Talking Heads song “Life During Wartime,” while the second line comes from the Jean Harris book Stranger in Two Worlds. Carrying a classic country vibe, the message is more than clear — all Crow wants to do “is have some fun.” And you can too! This hit is upbeat, energetic, and bound to get you singing along — especially after a few margaritas!

With lyrics honoring “love that’s grown in southern ground,” the song is a celebration of the South, perfect for a Mississippi native like Buffett! Patriotism also features heavily in the song’s lyrics, with Brown thanking God for “the stars and stripes.”

“Like a Rolling Stone” — Bob Dylan

One of the most influential songs in music history, Bob Dylan’s hit has cemented its place as an iconic and revolutionary track. The song has been covered by a host of huge names too, including the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Rolling Stones, and has also been lauded by the likes of Paul McCartney. It’s no wonder that this track, along with other Dylan hits, has made its way onto the Radio Margaritaville lineup!
