NASCAR driver Jason Leffler died Wednesday following a dirt-car crash at an event in New Jersey Wednesday night. Leffler was 37.

Members of the NASCAR community reacted to the death of the two-time winner on the Nationwide Series, overnight on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Jeff Hammond, a FOX broadcaster, spoke to Claire B. Lang on Dialed In about Leffler’s personality and his five-year-old son.

Brad Sweet, the driver of the No. 5 car on the NASCAR Nationwide Series, told Lang about how “happy” Leffler had been racing recently.

PJ Jones, a fellow driver who had a brotherly relationship with Leffler, said that the news was “devastating,” and that the news hit “way too close to home.”
