Minnesota Vikings 2014 training camp report from SiriusXM NFL Radio

SiriusXM NFL Radio’s 10th annual training camp tour traveled north to Mankato, Minn., as Bruce Murray and Rich Gannon visited Minnesota Vikings camp at Minnesota State University on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Minnesota Vikings to Watch

Rich Gannon says to keep an eye on new cornreback Captain Munnerlyn:

“He’s talked about some of these receivers that he’s going to face this year in this division […] he’s not a big guy. He’s 5’8”.

Mike Zimmer likes to play a lot of press man-to-man coverage, so he’s going to be challenged, even more so than he was in Carolina. I think this is a great test for him.”

Bruce Murray is watching defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd:

“It looks like he’s trimmed down a little. He recognized what his role is on this football team. You want to help to help out a secondary? You have to generate that pass rush up front […] As he comes into his second year, I think the bar has to be moved up for him.”
