It’s no coincidence that the TV kids on The Michael J. Fox show are similar ages to his own children, but Michael J. Fox says they are only inspired by his family, not based on them–and mostly for comic relief. Sharing a story of one time at camp when his daughter told him she was “working on a new smile” so he shouldn’t worry if he saw her smiling differently in pictures, he tells Entertainment Weekly Radio‘s Dalton Ross the funny way the show’s writers used the story in the script.
