We’re off to the Second City this weekend for the 25th anniversary of Lollapalooza! We will once again broadcast sets and interviews across a number of SiriusXM channels including The Spectrum (Ch. 28), Jam On (Ch. 29)SiriusXMU (Ch. 35), Alt Nation (Ch. 36), Octane (Ch. 37), Hip-Hop Nation (Ch. 44) and Electric Area (Ch. 52) all weekend long from 7/28-7/31.

Before their Saturday night closing set, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith was gracious enough to sit down with Jenny Eliscu and discuss the new album, The Getaway, and specifically how it’s different from past albums (fret now, it still sounds like the Chili Peppers). He also compared this year’s Lolla to the band’s first one. They didn’t play at the first Lolla in ’91 but came hard in ’92.

Day Wave, a.k.a Jackson Phillips stopped by our backstage digs to give us the lowdown on his Lolla set and new music coming down the pike. After releasing two EPs, SiriusXM Alt Nation’s Madison was the first to find out that he’s working on a full-length album that’s close to done. So get ready for mucho Day Wave in early 2017, but to tide us over he’s promising songs by October.

Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, and the honorary chairman of Lollapalooza, spoke with SiriusXMU’s Jenny Eliscu about the legacy of the festival, the music at its roots and what his next step will be in “other places to create music.” And it sounds like said next step will be something pretty spectacular and innovative in Vegas. We’d expect nothing less from the man.

He also told us an epic story about Henry Rollins pumping iron in Dolphin shorts because … Henry Rollins pumping iron in dolphin shorts. Oh Perry, we heart you so hard. #WereNotWorthy

In addition to Day Wave and Perry Farrell, we were visited by Saint Motel, Two Door Cinema Club, Miike Snow, Nothing But Thieves and more! Check back for interviews and tune in to hear their sets. The full schedule can be fount at www.SiriusXM.com/Lolla!
