Kerry Washington on Scandal’s Olivia Pope: I love her

Olivia Pope’s life may be a little, well, scandalous (for lack of a better word!) but the character is a powerhouse. Kerry Washington, the talented actress who plays the Pope role on Scandal, says the fictional character has inspired her to break out of her own personal comfort zone.

“I love her … not to sound like a psychopath,” Washington said Friday on Entertainment Weekly Radio. “I’m very grateful to her. She’s taught me a lot … I don’t know if I would be a mom today if it weren’t for her. She really has taught me to be resilient and juggle a lot at once.”

Washington talked more about life on and off the Scandal screen during a Town Hall on Entertainment Weekly Radio (Ch. 105). Check out some more sneak peeks below, with everything from on-TV intimacy (Tony Goldwyn isn’t THAT hot, right?! 😉), to Viola Davis’ Emmy win, to dreams of Beyonce guest starring on Scandal (YES PLEASE).
