Tyreek Hill would likely be a favorite to star in the Pro Bowl no matter who was throwing him passes.

The fact the quarterback of the AFC squad will be Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, Hill believes, automatically elevates the chances of the dynamic receiver/returner being recognized as the best player in Sunday’s all-star game in Orlando, Fla.

‘He’s always going to be looking for me down the field doing my thing’

“I got a chance to win the MVP, hopefully,” Hill told Cole Wright and Kirk Morrison on Pro Bowl Live. “Because Pat, he’s always going to be looking for me down the field doing my thing. I had a lot of goals this year. 2019 Pro Bowl MVP wasn’t one of them, so I’m going to go ahead and add that on there.”

“We’re going to come out next year, we’re going to stay hungry, we’re going to stay humble and we’re just going to compete and get better as the weeks go by.”

After riding a dynamic offense all the way to home-field advantage for the AFC Championship Game, where they lost an overtime shootout against the New England Patriots, the Chiefs should again be viewed as a top contender for the 2019 season. How far does Hill think they can go?

‘We tell ourselves that we control our own destiny, so we’re going to live by that and we’re going to play by that’

“I mean, the sky’s the limit,” Hill said. “We tell ourselves that we control our own destiny, so we’re going to live by that and we’re going to play by that. We’re going to come out next year, we’re going to stay hungry, we’re going to stay humble and we’re just going to compete and get better as the weeks go by.”

That, and the prospect of standing out at the Pro Bowl, helps take some of the sting out of a crushing loss.

‘It’s not the way that we wanted to end things but we live and we learn’

“It’s tough, man,” Hill said. “It’s not the way that we wanted to end things, but we live and we learn. So next year, when we’re in that same position, we’re going to be able to move forward from mistakes that we made this past game.”
