Jim Ladd looks back at the ‘higher frequency’ of David Bowie

Legendary southern California-based rock radio DJ Jim Ladd has more than forty years’ experience playing the best of rock ‘n’ roll. He currently hosts a weekly show on SiriusXM’s Deep Tracks (Ch. 27)

The truly great ones seem to vibrate on a higher frequency, or perhaps they are tuned into a higher frequency, but whatever it is, it’s theirs and theirs alone. David Bowie had that. Something beyond technical proficiency, natural ability or even his obvious charisma.

When Ziggy Stardust came out, I actually entertained the idea that David Bowie could be an alien from another planet, sent here to help us evolve into a more tolerant species, who were less fearful and a bit more open minded. Apparently I was right.

I’m not saying he completed his mission, but he certainly helped. Among his obvious alien powers, David Bowie was a musical shape-shifter who showed us that change should be embraced, not feared. That a true artist changes with frequency; moving ever forward.

Well, he’s gone back to wherever he came from, but he left the planet earth better than he found it. That’s what the great ones do.

Thanks Starman.
