They might wind up getting everybody’s vote … except their own.

Wednesday on the Howard Stern Show, former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura confirmed that when he runs for president of the United States in 2016, he wants Howard Stern on the ticket as his running mate.

“I won’t do it if you don’t do it with me,” Ventura said. “I will be that serious. There’s a method to my madness. I need you.”

Ventura went on to explain that he needs Howard’s forum on SiriusXM satellite radio to reach the constituency.

According to Ventura, he and Howard will appeal to the American people in their similarities to the country’s first president.

“We would give the people of America the first opportunity to vote for a president that does not belong to a political party since George Washington,” Ventura said. “I think people will jump at that today.”

A couple of Ventura and Howard’s stances:

  • On United States intervention in the Middle East: “Get the f- out.”
  • On what Howard will do his first day as vice president: “I’m going right up to Camp David, I’m going to learn how to play golf, and we’re gonna have dinner parties.”
  • On the ticket’s biggest fear: “We win.”
