After the Baltimore Ravens snapped a two-game losing streak with Thursday night’s 40-0 victory against Miami and improved their record to 4-4, the question has to be asked.
Where exactly is this team headed?
‘I think we have a very, very good football team’
“I’m very optimistic,” wide receiver Jeremy Maclin told Alex Marvez on Late Hits. “I think we have a very, very good football team. We’ll get some guys back after this mini-bye and just build a couple of these wins in a row.”
The game was exceptionally chippy. Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso drew a penalty for hitting quarterback Joe Flacco just as he was sliding, which caused him to be sidelined with a concussion and a cut on his ear.
‘I don’t think Kiko’s a dirty player; I think that was a dirty hit, though’
“First of all, I don’t think Kiko’s a dirty player,” Maclin said. “I think that was a dirty hit, though. I think that’s bush league. You clearly saw (Flacco) giving himself up.”
Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh drew two personal-foul penalties. Miami defensive end William Hayes even poked Ravens offensive lineman Austin Howard in the eye.
‘Who pokes somebody in the eye? Come on, now’
“Who pokes somebody in the eye? Come on, now,” Maclin said. “That’s childish. I really can’t speak for why it was so chippy other than they didn’t like the fact they were getting their butts kicked, I guess, I don’t know.”
