A week ago, NFL teams and fans alike had one question: “Where will Jared Allen sign?”

An accomplished pass-rusher, Allen seemed to be on the verge of signing with the Seattle Seahawks. But ultimately the former Vikings defensive end chose to keep it in the NFC North and sign with the rival Chicago Bears, agreeing to a four-year deal in the Windy City.

Allen joined SiriusXM NFL Radio‘s Movin’ The Chains with Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Monday to talk about his excitement with his new team, and address concerns about his age and subsequent effectiveness at getting to the quarterback.

I’m my own worst critic and I know what my body feels like. I know what I’m capable of putting out there […] I’m thrilled to go out and play. I’m a full year off my shoulder surgery so my training is even better than it was last year, and mentally going into an organization that has such greatness surrounding it as far as past players, and when you walk in that building and you see the jerseys on the wall, you can’t help but want to step your game up.
