Jaguars head coach: Blake Bortles’ comments were taken the wrong way

There’s no denying that passionate football fans love to talk to about the sports’ in-game strategy, and many even feel they have a strong understanding of it.

That’s why Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles struck a nerve with so many Thursday when he likened fans criticizing NFL playcalling to kindergartners doing the same to college students.

As expected, the team’s head coach Gus Bradley had a chat with Bortles, which he spoke about on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“I know Blake and I know what he was trying to do,” Bradley said. “The way it came I out I could see where fans were passionate and maybe took it a different way than Blake intended. But I told him it’s a valuable lesson. Even though that’s not what you’re intent was or how you wanted it to come across, sometimes there’s perceptions out there that sting you.”
