NFL Radio - 2014 TCT - Bengals - Hue JacksonRobert Griffin III has had limited work at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.

And the work he has had has not been good. He wound up on the injured-reserve list in Week Two with a shoulder injury. He was cleared to practice on Nov. 29. Griffin returned to practice on Nov. 29.

Poor performance vs. the Bengals

He played poorly against the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Now, Griffin gets to make amends when the 0-13 Browns face the Buffalo Bills Sunday.

“I think he needs to have an uptick in performance, and I believe he will,” Browns coach Hue Jackson told Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan on Movin’ The Chains. “He’s now had a chance to play in a game. It’s not new to him again. These games are for keeps. This is not preseason football; this is real football.”

‘I knew there was a chance things would not go as well’

Griffin has completed 24 of 54 passes for 294 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions. He also has run 12 times for 64 yards and a score.

“So you can’t simulate a game in practice,” Jackson said. “He played the first game and hadn’t played since then and a lot of games in between where he’s watched but not participated, where it be practice or preparing for the game.

“So that’s different. And then you go out there and I knew there was a chance that things would not go as well. Early in the game, he didn’t play as well as I thought he could. I thought he did some really good things in the second half and I’m looking for him to playing better this week.”
