Independence Day: Resurgence takes place 20 years after aliens almost took over the earth in the first film.

But as Entertainment Radio’s Julia Cunningham joked in SiriusXM’s Town Hall with the cast and director Roland Emmerich, were new stars Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher even alive then?

“You’re both so young and fresh-faced,” Cunningham teased.

“Wow, make us feel old,” actress Vivica A. Fox joked.

For the record, Hemsworth, 26, and Usher, 24, remember loving the sci-fi disaster flick as kids — so the pressure was on for the long-awaited sequel.

“Man there are some die-hard fans out there, people who have literally watched this film every summer for the last 20 years and they still love it just as much. Fortunately it hasn’t been like a negative thing. No one has ever come up to me and said, ‘You guys better have done the sequel right.’ They’re just excited that there is a sequel,” Usher said. “I watched this film year after year, so now stepping into it next to Jeff Goldblum and Vivica A. Fox is like walking into my television set, you know? It’s a dream come true.”

Hemsworth added that Independence Day was “a big part” of his childhood.

“This film I watched for the first time when I was like 6 and a half and watched it many, many times after that,” the Aussie actor said as Goldblum laughed.

“So young you gotta add the half in there,” Usher quipped.

Fox, 51, also said she “just heard” about the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm and is open to returning to Larry David’s TV show.

“Loretta Black may be back,” she said.

The only question left is: can she score Hemsworth an audition?

As an added bonus, here’s Goldblum composing (and singing) an Independence Day theme song. You’re welcome in advance.

Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters Friday, and the Town Hall premieres at 2 pm ET on SiriusXM EW Radio (Ch. 105).
