Hillary Clinton tackled a variety of important topics on SiriusXM Insight with Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine Thursday, but there’s certainly one issue that stands out to us: Madam Secretary, if you had your own SiriusXM channel, what kind of music would it play?
Clinton immediately suggested her favorite, classic rock ‘n’ roll. She says she’d also feature female singers, including Sheryl Crow and, of course, Adele!
“I’m currently into Adele, that is my go-to voice,” Clinton says. “I have such a huge admiration for her skills, her ability and her personality.”
And during her inevitably busy days, the former secretary of state turns to classical music.
“I often listen to that when I’m working because it’s sort of soothing,” she says. “You’re doing a lot of paperwork, you’re trying to get through it, you don’t have to listen to the lyrics. It really is a way of kind of taking it all in.”
Clinton also talked with Mayor Levine about the influence and inspiration she stills feels from her mother and grandmother.
“When I think about anything being hard or challenging, I think, well, my mother went through a lot worse and she really came out of it with a big heart … and that has motivated me. I think about her all the time.”
The candidate elaborated on her comment during Wednesday night’s debate about not being a natural politician.
“This is harder for me. I admire the skills my husband and President Obama have. They’re charismatic and compelling and great orators,” she says. “I get up every day and say, ‘what can I do to make someone’s life better?'”
