‘[Hillary Clinton]… is by far the best qualified person… to be president of the United States,’ says Howard Dean

Former Governor of Vermont Howard Dean joined Ari Rabin-Havt this morning on SiriusXM Progress‘ The Agenda to discuss the present situation in Iraq and how it might impact the presidential elections in 2016, especially if Hillary Clinton decides to run.

“Hillary Clinton, whether you’re a detractor or a supporter, is by far the best qualified person running on either side to be President of the United States. There’s no one that matches her qualifications,” Dean said.

With regards to how Clinton should position herself on the situation in Iraq if she does run, Dean thinks she’s got it handled. “[Clinton was] the Secretary of State. She probably has far more access than I do to intelligence, so I’m not going to advise her, certainly not on the radio, what she should say about Iraq.”

Dean also shared his thoughts on the neoconservatives who continually call for military action. “I have no idea. I don’t think these people have any idea what they’re doing. The problem is that Sunday talk shows are in decline and that’s because all they have is either people on there who either do political posturing, like Senator [Lindsey] Graham …  I think they’re entitled to their opinion. I don’t think they’re necessarily entitled to a national forum based on the gross mistakes of the past.”
