This week, Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads his first performance as the Metropolitan Opera’s new Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer music director.
As we celebrate this momentous occasion, Met Opera Radio (Ch. 75) will broadcast some of Maestro Nézet-Séguin’s most remarkable past Met performances, including Charles Gounod’s Faust and the channel premieres of Antonín Dvořák’s Rusalka, Richard Strauss’s Elektra, Giuseppe Verdi’s Otello, Richard Wagner’s Der Fliegende Holländer, and Georges Bizet’s Carmen — the opera that marked Nézet-Séguin’s exciting Met debut. And on Tuesday, December 4, join us at 7:55pm ET when Nézet-Séguin conducts a live broadcast of Verdi’s La Traviata, starring Diana Damrau, Juan Diego Flórez, and Quinn Kelsey, from the Met in New York City.
