“It’s better to burn out than to fade away,” Neil Young famously sang in his 1979 song Hey, Hey, My, My (Into the Black).
More than 38 years later, the singer-songwriter and music icon is turning 72 years old and has neither burnt out nor faded away. His influential, fruitful career has spanned the subgenres of rock ‘n’ roll, and he’s still releasing albums, playing shows, and–like a true product of the ’60–fighting the good fight against the corporations and politicians that rub him the wrong way. From Buffalo Springfield to Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young and all of many projects and records in between, we’re thrilled to wish Young a happy birthday! Celebrate the living legend by testing your knowledge of one of the greats with our quiz.
